hiya peeps i think the BOOK should be called 3 villages unite

  8. meaka says:

Just an idea for the book name! How about…Three World’s Collide. It’s not very good but it’s a suggestion=) Please tell me what you think. Oh and I’ve changed a a little bit of my story, instead of the mum being killed in the bomb and they only find out the next day in the newspaper. Now she actually goes to see her mum and on her way back she actually see’s her mum get blown up! Not very nice i know, but i’m the kind of girl that likes that type of book. (there’s nothing wrong with me and in my life, i live with a lovely family and i’m not adopted =)) (not tat there’s anything wrong with being adopted, i’m not implying that.)

I have learnt a lot from it and can’t wait to find out more! I am doing the story of Adam Newitt, a man who stole leather and so got sent to do work in Tasmania. I was pretty amazed when I found out despite the conditions; he lived to a staggering 85 years! All this went on and more between the years of 1789 and 1874. – LB

  34. freemans says:

I’m very pleased to hear that you are really interested by this project. Of course Mr Earle is an ex-pupil of Westfield Boys School so he went to school in the building in which Freeman’s is now in. I liked it when he said that Sherman (American) tanks used to drive passed the classroom windows in Westfield Street and all the kids rushed to the windows to look. Imagine how Mrs Berkshire would feel if that happened today and all the children in her class rushed to the window. She wouldn’t be very pleased. I’m really looking forward to your pieces of writing that you are working on.

  35. Phoebe Aspinall says:

An early leave from freemans school into the cold late winter walking to Wellingboroughs history museum. My toes froze when we were walking there and my nose went bright red, i felt like rudolph. We walked into town in our little group of eight five girls and three boys, Meaka, Sophie, Daisy, Minty, Phoebe (me :D ), Lewis G, Sahil and Enan. We went to a small plaxue with the names of people that died from the bombing the plaxue said “In memory of Frances M. Harling 32yrs, Annie Hollowell 71 years, Arthur H. Law 28yrs, Donald Lyman 18yrs, Caroline O’Hara 58yrs, Norman Shaw 10yrs, John A. Shearman 62yrs, Beatrice L. Warr 42yrs Who died as a result of the bombing on August 3rd 1942. We took a few pictures then moved onto our trip to the museum. 8 more frozen toes later we finaly made it to the museum. We were welcomed with a opening door as the museum finaly opened and finaly the only walm thing in the jorney! While my toes were defrosting we were given a very nice tour and talk about “The bombing” of wellingborough after that Mr. John Erale we learnt alot about “The Bombing” and him in his life in the war times. Thank you for reading Bye :D

Today was really interesting, I liked going to the museum and listening to John as he told us alot because he was a kid in world war II. On the way there we stopped by the pagoda and saw a plaque with people’s names on it that that had died in the bombing. Norman Shaw was only 10 years old when he died, he was the youngest on there. Annin Hollowell was 71 and she was the oldest. While we where there we saw the car park that used to have a cinemar in it that got bombed. We also saw the place near matalan that was once Newcomen RD but that was unfortunately was bombed aswell.
I’ve decided to write a diary entry about a young boy in the war. Today was really interesting, I’ve learnt alot. :)

  37. Meaka says:

Earlyer this morning a group of children went to wellingborugh museum near the castle. We did this because we are all doing a writing project about the tragic bombing that went on in wellingborugh in the second world war. We found out alot of interesting facts about the history of this subject. A man called John Earle spoke to us, he was a young boy wich went to the cinima pagoda with his friend, deciding what film to watch. When the bomb went off in the market square. Before we visited the museum we went to see a plack that all the the names on of the people who died:

    .Frances M. Harling 32 yrs
    .Annie Hollowell 71 yrs
    .Arthur H. law 28 yrs
    .Donald lyman 18yrs
    .Caroline O’Hara 58 yrs
    .Norman shaw 10 yrs
    .John A. Shearman 62 yrs
    .Beatrice L. Warr 42 yrs
It was a very solem acation and i prosume they are still missed dearly. We each had to come up with a story, newspaper report, diary entry, so on, so on. Me for one dont want to share my story with you yet , but i hope to soon. Im very passionate for writing, although most people would not know that. As for this im very flatterd to be chosen to do this.

  38. Daisy says:

This morning we went to Wellingborough museum and found out alot of interesting facts about World War 2. We left at 9:30 am and started walking in the freezing cold weather, I felt as if my toes were going to fall off any second! On the way we stopped and saw the place where the bombs dropped, it was where the regal cinima used to be. We had our piture taken next to the plaque which said the names of the poor people who died. There was even a boy named Norman Shaw who was only 10 when he died. When we got there we went upstairs and looked at some of the things on display like letters, the food that they would get every week and the living room and kitchen a normal family would have duuring the war. Then a man named John Earle who was actually there when the bomb dropped talked to us about what it was like. When we got back to school we decided how we would present our work, I’m doing a diary entry. I learnt alot about what happened and I found it very fascinating. I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to continuing with this project.

  39. minty says:

Today has been great , we walked down to the Wellingborough museum. It was freezing , my toes were num i could’nt feel them.We were a bit early so we went to the pagoda and had a pic with the plakue. When we got there a man named Ean showed us the upstairs gallerie,he told us about where its been bombed and there were left over pieces of bombs. Then a man named John Earle, who had been there in world war 2,told us lots of facts about when he saw the bombing. It was amazing because at the end we saw artifacts, like the newspaper prints and old newspapers bounded into one book. Finally we went back and thought of what we are going to do, so i’m doing a newspaper report.

  40. Sahil says:

Hi everyone,we have been learning about the bombs in wellingborough in world war 2.
It was an amazing visit to the museum and thhoolse quaint man had a fascinating story about the sad bombing inthe the 3 locations of the terrible misery where people were either dead or injured.Anyways as we dont know what the other schools are doing we think we do the best.Hope I enjoy it loads!

  41. lewis says:

We went down to Wellingborough Museum to look and listen to things about the bombing in World War 2.Also, we spoke to a man who was there we his mates at the time of the boming. He also was a former member of the Air Forces. He was 13 when the war started. There were old newspapers and a mould which you use it on.
We learnt quite alot whilst shivering in the cold!

  42. Enan says:

Hi guys, this writing prject is quite cool actually. We get to reaserch about bombs, planes and other cool stuff instead of being stuck in a classroom. We went to the wellingborough meuseum were we saw peices of bombs, shot down planes, old newspapers and a person who was a child during the bombing. Another funny thing was a man was on the toilet when the bomb went off in the cinima. But luckily he was okay

  43. Mr J Zakis says:

Hello all you budding writers out there. I am very excited by this project. Each school has decided to research a significant historical event and create some adventurous and interesting writing around it. We are researching into the bombing of Wellingborough in the Second World War. What are the rest of the schools doing?
