Around 2000 years ago,the roman empire dominated Europe.
It ruled lands around the Mediterranean from France to Turkey to North Africa.It came to an end in 476 ad.
Rome was the capital city of the Roman Empire, and tooday is the capital city of Italy.
The Roman army became very powerfull and expended there Empire.
The first roman Emperor was called Augustus.He came to power in 27 BC.

Joshua had his tonsils out yesterday and is recovering very quickly at home.
I dont think it is fair for the government to increase University tuition fees from £3000 to £9000.It is a very big rise.
A lot of students wont go to universitiy because of this rise, especially the poor.
Students will be more in debt by the time they finish university.
However, students should not use violence when demonstrating.
I dont know what that statue is called, but I think we could use this to show all of the activitys out of school like the pantomine!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was born in Porbandar in India, Gujrat.
He is world famous.
He fought to get India its independence from the British raj in 1947.
He belived in non violence.
In the picture that is shown he was making cotton.

This statue is of Mahatma Gandhi and he was an independent fighter of India. He was born in a state called Gujrat in India and he spent most of his life in India and studied law. He went to South Africa to practice law but ended fighting for his rights. In India he fought hard for freedom.
This is Gandhi, he was a famous pacifist in India.

Homework – Due in Tuesday 16th November.
Learn the verse:
30 days has September, April, June and November. All the rest have 31 except February alone which has 28 and 29 each leap year.
Also to blog your thoughts if you can and in addition to this some people may have Maths homework about learning to tell the time.
Tomorrow Mia and Hannah you have Science with Mrs Costanzo, Numeracy, PE (if weather permits!) and French.
